Waikato Heritage Day
Saturday · 9:00am – 3:00pm

Queen's Redoubt Education Centre will be open for Waikato Heritage Day. Guided tours of the earthworks, displays in the education centre, and the chance to speak with Trust volunteers and researchers. Entry is free but a Koha (donation) of a gold coin would be appreciated.

The Visitor Centre is open every Sunday. Self-guided tours of the earthworks, displays inside the education centre, and Trust volunteers on hand. Any variations are noted on the notice board at the entrance.

The site can be opened for schools, tour groups, and community organisations at any time between 9am and 6pm by prior arrangement. The Trust's education programme includes content tailored to different year levels.

Armistice Day Commemoration

A commemorative service recognising the soldiers who served at and passed through Queen's Redoubt during the New Zealand Wars.

Waikato Heritage Day

Education centre open for a full day, with Trust volunteers and historians on site to share the story of the Waikato War.

School Holiday Programme

A week of activities for school-age children, exploring the history of the New Zealand Wars through hands-on learning.

Earthworks Open Day

A guided walk of the restored earthworks with the Trust's preservation team, explaining the restoration work carried out on site.
